make light trucks more expensive in the United States. Read

Trade Case Update -
Furniture and Lumber
The U.S. Department
of Commerce (DOC) will be imposing lower-than-expected duties on a couple
of imported consumer items subject to trade remedy cases. While this is somewhat
encouraging news, the fact is the government should not be imposing import
taxes at all on these products. Read

- On June 16th, CWT hosted
its Annual Awards Dinner in honor of Don Fisher, Chairman of Gap, Inc. In
addition, CWT recognized retiring Congressional free trade leaders Cal Dooley
(D-CA) and Jennifer Dunn (R-WA) for their stalwart support of free trade
throughout their careers. Other VIPs attending the dinner included Chairman
of the House Ways & Means Committee, Bill Thomas (R-CA), and Congressman
