Bush and Kerry: How
Do They Stack Up on Trade?
John Kerry the presidential candidate likes to rail against imports and
the "offshoring" of U.S. jobs. However, among the 49 Democrats that
served in the U.S. Senate during the 107th Congress, Mr. Kerry ranked as the
14th most trade-friendly senator on CWT's trade score card. George W. Bush
staunchly defends free trade every chance he gets and yet he has behaved more
like a protectionist on several occasions during his first term. What should
